This book was so beautiful it made my heart ache for more of God and for his Church. I keep a notebook of quotations that hit a chord when I am reading. I realized quickly that I would spend too much time writing if I stopped to record a passage every time I liked one. So, I just read. I knew I'd read it again - buy my own copy and mark it up probably. But for this first reading, I simply read and enjoyed.

What touched me the most was Bonhoeffer's ability to illuminate the importance of two opposing concepts - the "fine line" if you will. Love and severity; community and solitude; speaking and silence.

When I read it again I'll probably have something more specific to say. Until then, all I can say is - "beautiful."
