I loved the story of the Yankee girl finally getting her Southern man. And, as a so-called Yankee, I gotta say, us girls from the North just know how to do things better.
(view spoiler)[ the plot about the corrupt police and business men is something that you find in everyday life, especially nowadays. It is definalty a relateable story. The main problem was the lack of twists in the book. Everything was pretty much cut and dried.... you could tell that the Tobacco King was in charge of the whole thing and you could figure out who the corrupt policemen were just from their behavior. Not a bad story overall. Lucy finally ends up with a chance of getting her High School crush & Carter rediscovers feelings for the little Freshman girl who had a crush on him. (hide spoiler)]
