The idea of shifting pain from one person to the other and the consequences this act could cause to the people and the healer himself is an intriguing idea. However, this book suffers a little from the "Poison" triology syndrome by M. Snyder. This book's illness features many captures, recaptures and escapes in its plot. I liked the heroine, Nya, a lot and want to know what happens next! A good debute novel.
