The four hour body is basically a book of get fit quick schemes. I'm usually wary of get anything quick schemes but the methods outlined here do seem to be at least workable. I once saw a video of a Ferris lecture at TED talks and remember being impressed. So far the book has sound science and tests to back it claims up.

Like Ferris says, the book is meant to be used as 'a buffet'. Dip in and select the parts you want to read. I've only skimmed through two sections so far, but insha Allah will come back to it after trying a few things out. His basic premise is that you don't really have to work all THAT hard to get fit. As in 4 hours of gym time a MONTH is enough to gain a heavy load of weight, lose a heap of fat etc.

Sounds unbelievable right? But strangely this guy does seem to know what he's talking about. And his credibility adds authenticity to the books message. But we will never know till we try right? So i'm thinking of giving a go of it in the gym. The four stars is both for a well constructed book and in anticipation of success.

If i did have a problem with the book, its the fact that it gives a little TOO much information and therefore retains the ability to confuse. This is definitely a book to flip through and familiarize yourself with. No linear cover to cover reading here. This is a book that looks like its been built for use.

On the upside. An earlier Ferris talk ( http://www.ted.com/talks/tim_ferriss_... on TED no less) gave me some very useful tips on how to swim better. Simple tips, but worked a lot of change. So i'm positive about the potential here.

Halik Haha well the gym thing actually started working believe it or not Alhamdulillah. I made significant gains on this minimalist work out. But had to stop soon as exams and studies took its toll. Hope to start after inshaAllah. I tried the swimming tips out as well and seeing progress there also..
