I started reading this a few months after my mom's unexpected passing and found it enormously comforting. I'm 31, so not exactly the target demographic - most of the women interviewed lost their mothers in their early 20s and before - but there are some things about the experience that are so universal, it hardly matters how old you are. As you might expect, having a box of tissues at the ready comes in handy. I'm certain I'll return to this many, many times, especially as I try to navigate life events that are inextricably linked to mothers and daughters.
