Kenny How do you like these so far? I love her book "Wise Blood," and there are 3 or 4 of her short stories that I think are pretty brilliant, but I can definitely see some weaknesses in her writing and I wouldn't expect everyone to dig her. Just finished her second novel, "The Violent Bear it Away," and it definitely retread a lot of the ground "Wise Blood" and some of her stories already covered. I still liked it, though, 'cause I'm a sucker.

Matt Margo I read the majority of the collection for one of my fiction workshop classes last year but haven't had access to it since that class ended because I got it from the college library. The first time I had ever read the titular story was in tenth grade and I absolutely despised it then, but rereading it allowed me to realize that I was basically hating what I didn't understand. Haven't read any of her other work like her novels yet, and I'm not completely sure that I'd dig it. I have a great appreciation for O'Connor, but I still find quite a bit of her characters and situations and themes just kind of unbearable.
