This was the first book that I’ve run across that dealt with an adventurer/explorer theme, so I enjoyed it for the different plot and storyline. It was hard to tell whether the timeframe in the book takes place in the future or past (my guess is future), but either way, the “world” described is unique and has references to places and creatures that are unfamiliar and yet easily visualized through the author’s descriptions.

Will and Gant team up to search for Will’s father who went missing in the wild jungle surrounding Zimaya Heights. During their search, they discover a long held mutual attraction for each other and indulge it as they battle both man and beast along their journey. Their relationship comes together without a lot of angst despite their 12-year age gap, and the fact that Gant used to work for Will’s father.

I was glad that I found this book through my A-Z book title challenge – it was an enjoyable read!
