This massive book had a lot going for it--great ideas and everything I like to ruminate on in regard to far future concepts: rejunvenation for humans and eternal lifetimes, faster than light technology, smart and deversified alien beings. But the book is also just crammed with information that made it very slow-going at times. Ten pages of information where a paragraph would've sufficed. And flat, female characters that fulfill stereotypes: the whore, the ice queen, or the hopeless romantic. Still, it was fun carrying this 1,000-page book around with me for a couple of weeks and entering into its multiplayer world full of action and suspense.
