Pigs In Heaven
by Barbara Kingsolver
by Barbara Kingsolver
I enjoyed reading this book, but I didn't LOVE it. I wish I read this right after reading The Bean Trees, since it is the sequel to it. I did however read The Bean Trees about 8 or 9 years ago, so I remembered some important information that was relevant to this book.
I think Barbara Kingsolver is a fantastic writer. I really liked how she introduced all the characters separately and then brought them all together at the end of the book. I guess for me the things I didn't like about the book were how the characters handled certain situations. I think there could've been a better way to solve the problems they had run into. I also didn't like the character Annawake Fourkiller. I understand her reasoning behind wanting Turtle to be part of the Cherokee Nation, but I wanted everything to be resolved quicker as it I was making me nervous for the future of Taylor and Turtle's relationship.
Overall, it was a good book and I enjoyed reading it, but it wasn't until the end where I felt like I couldn't put the book down.
