Well written. I was reading it as an adult and could see myself getting very caught up in the situation the lead did. It kind of reminded me of any abusive relationship to be honest. He's so good to me, he treats me so well, he *gets* me. It did wrap up a little too neatly, but at the same time, my belief (based on classic vampire mythology) is that it probably would end like that. And in a small, closed off community, the explanation of events would work, maybe more so in New England where we have deep rooted ghost stories.
