it was ok

I have to say I expected more from this book after reading all the "buzz" about it. Unfortunately, I did not notice that it was classified as science fiction until after I started reading it. I don't want to give away any details about it, since I guess not knowing and discovering as the book progresses is kind of the point. But I will say that I thought the progression was very slow. The whole book is the narrator thinking about her past and reminiscing, and more than once I thought she was just overthinking everything! And, contrary to what I had heard, there wasn't really any big twist at the end, or if there was then I missed it. The premise of the book is interesting, but overall, it's not one I would enthusiastically recommend. Also, as a personal aside, I am puzzled by the picture on the cover -- it looks like a boy dressed up as a girl! I thought maybe it would have something to do with the story, but it doesn't! Strange.
