Read in December, 2010

Jayne Ann Krentz often writes of thing magical and mystical. This is one of those. Fun to read, but you have to take that leap of imagination to get into the characters and conflicts that make up this story.

Chloe is a dreamlight reader who runs a psychic detective agency. Jack needs a dreamlight reader to help him find the Burning Lamp and get over his twin demons of hallucinations and blackouts. He goes to seek Chloe's help, and sparks fly! It's a whole adventure set in Washington, Oregon, California and Las Vegas. Lots of fun to read!

Interestingly, there are three books in this "Dreamlight Trilogy", each under a different name. This is #1 of the trilogy. Book #2 goes back in history. Jayne Ann Krentz uses the pen name Amanda Quick when she writes historical fiction, so Book #2 is Burning Lamp by Amanda Quick. Book #3 is set in the future, so look for Midnight Crystal by Jayne Castle, her other pen name. These will, I'm sure, involve the ancestors and the posterity of the characters introduced in Fired Up. All three of these are part of Krentz's "Arcane Society" books.
