really liked it
bookshelves: mystery
Read from March 14 to 25, 2011

While not as riveting as Tana French's first two novels, Faithful Place is still an exceptional hybrid between the detective novel and the psychological thriller. While the mystery aspects of this story is interesting, French is much more interested in dissecting a dysfunctional family and the damage this family have done to its members throughout its years. French has yet to write a mainstream mystery novel and hopefully she will never do so. Her mysteries are pure literature.
