Evocative story of one young man's coming of age in the late 1950's south and the girl who made it possible.

This book is the sweet story of a young man's reform at the hands of a very special young lady. In some ways it's as tragic as Romeo & Juliet but in other ways it's hopeful and full of bittersweet fulfiment that will bring a tear to the eye of even the staunchest stoic. Yet leaves you nostalgic for the taste of RC Cola and Moon-Pies, even if you've never tasted them.

At just over two hundred pages its a fast and satisfying read and it leaves you feeling better just for having read it.

Caution to the macho reader though... this book is as much of a chick flick as the movie was. Read and enjoy... just be sure you're stocked up on Kleenex.
