Hayley and Harper get to finish the trilogy... Lily is a year old, and Hayley and Harper are self denying their attraction for one another, rationalizing that the other is not interested and that it wouldn't be right as one is houseguest of the other's home... but with a push from Stella, Hayley decides to make an overt try - and Harper responds deliciously well... Harper is probably the most romantic of the three books - as he sets up their first night together, and as he proposes to her later... their relationship goes on the fast track once hayley finds she is pregnant (in spite of doubleing up on birth control)...

and Amelia's ghost is inhabiting Hayley's body (not just invading night and day dreams), and as Mitch learns more history of Amelia, Amelia is sharing more of her emotions and memories via Hayley - and in her craziness also attacking Harper...

so the story ends with Hayley allowing Amelia to 'take' her body - to reenact her last day - she snuck in through the ballroom terrace doors, went to the baby's room, made nooses for herself and the baby - with the intention of them both dying and via the voodoo greegree haunting Harper House together - but the baby's cries brings the nurse, who rescues the baby, and Amelia slowly dies, and is submerged in the nearby pond/lake... Harper dives to find her remains so that she can peacefully be laid to rest - Amelia tries to kill him under the water, he reminds her of the baby she used to sing to, and she lets him go... and they all have peace...
