Satori
by Don Winslow
by Don Winslow
Comments based on ARC. I was excited to see this “prequel” of one of my favorite Trevanian books, but a bit concerned as authors that try to pull this off (i.e. Eoin Colfer and the Douglas Adams book) sometimes fall flat. Winslow did a nice job; the book is a first class thriller, and though not the creating author, better than most that have to address a bar is set so high. Plenty of open-endedness and opportunity to add to the life of Nicholai Hel i.e. more books in the series
