A fan of Sophie Kinsella's tart wit and abundant imagination (and a wannabe shopaholic) I've enjoYed all of the Shopaholic series, and eagerly await the next. MINI SHOPAHOLIC is full throttle Kinsella humor as we meet (perhaps Becky's match) in 2-year-old daughter Minnie.

Of course, as we all know times have changed considerably since Becky was last let loose in Harrods – we've all tightened our belts (even Becky had to snug her new snakeskin one.) She's trying to adjust, promising hubby Luke that she'll not buy one more thing until she has worn all of her clothes at least three times. Such sacrifice!

It's not been a good year for Luke either. They're now living with Becky's Mum and Dad (loving parents to be sure as Becky has commandeered the dining room for her makeup and her father's study for her dress-ups). Becky is working from time to time as a personal shopper, but still has a bank book in the red and credit cards groaning under their loads.

Now, you'd think most of the giggles in MINI SHOPAHOLIC would center around Minnie whose favorite word is “Mine!' Her run through a shopping mall is enough to make other patrons gasp, and many of the chuckles are indeed found with her. However, when Becky decides that Luke needs some cheering up and decides to throw a surprise birthday party for him hysteria reigns.

Actress Rosalyn Landor brings Becky as well as the other characters to laugh producing life. She's a gifted performer who never takes her narrative over the top although temptations to do so in a Kinsella story abound.
