12/15/2010--I am using this book in conjunction with Easy Italian Step-by-Step and the Speroni Basic Italian text to teach myself Italian (I'm also looking at Italian children's literature and a beginning reader for adults). That may seem like a lot, but no one book is sufficient for learning a new language. 30 Days to Great Italian is a fun, no nonsense book really geared toward the casual tourist (which I am not--this is for my career) BUT it actually includes a number of idiomatic phrases (i.e. it teaches you to speak the way Italians actually do), which a number of texts do not cover. There is also a disc included that contains several dialogs. All in all a great book to include in your lesson plan but not one on which to solely rely.
