** spoiler alert ** I was a little reluctant to get into this book, because I disliked the second book in the series so much as compared to the first one. However! If I could go back in time and tell myself to just read a summary of the second book, and skip straight to this one, I would. This was great, a perfect addition to the series. I was really drawn into the action and plot - there was a lot of mystery.
I love practically every secondary character in this series, I think the interplay between them is what made me love the first book, and all the secondary characters feature prominently in this one. Which is great! Because my least favorite part of this are the scenes in which Alexia and Conall are together, which are few. They are SO much better as characters when they are pining away for each other and having adventures separately.
I want to know more about Lord Akeldama (who I imagine to be similar to Austin Scarlett) and Floote, and the Order of the Brass Octopus.
