really liked it
bookshelves: 4-stars, ya-childrens, read-2009, fantasy
Read in August, 2009 , read count: 1

At times, this book dragged on and I wished for some of the excitement that I was used to from the previous 3 books; however, that said, it was an important part of Taran's search of himself and who he is that shouldn't be missed. It was comforting to see the loyal bard and the grumbly Doli again. I did miss Eilonwy, though. Taran Wanderer is not the same boy as we saw from earlier books and as he grows the readers grow with him. It made me think at least once or twice of my own yearnings to truly find myself and who I am and made me think that maybe departing from everything you've ever known in search of something even greater may be one of the most worthwhile things one can do in his or her life.
