I read almost half of this book and couldn't go on even though I wanted to--not at all because it was bad. It was only too well-done. Being a librarian, these stories, perhaps funny on the surface but deeply un-funny in reality, started to blend seamlessly with my own experiences (which are overall, by the way, drastically less extreme and terrible) so that I was overcome with a lot more despair than is really necessary, not to mention a colossal headache. I really wanted to see what his moral of the story was, but I instead decided with determination that I would create the end of the story and its lesson myself, since it is the same story that exists in real life, and that it would be positive. Maybe after I've accomplished that, when I'm incredibly old and "finished" with my career, I'll go back and see if it matched up.
