** spoiler alert ** John Colby, Tony’s former partner, has been given the gift of reconstructive surgery – half his face is now bionic! Along with a new face, he’s also received some other enhancements – circuitry and computer bits that allow him to access and process data much faster than before (he’s lost some face, but gained some awesome). Tony and John make their big illegal chicken bust, but Tony discovers that what they thought was chicken is really a bizarre new plant that tastes exactly like it. He decides to follow the plant to its origins on the island of Yamapalu. The governor of Yamapalu has been trying to market the plant to famous chefs and food critics, so he can focus the world’s attentions (and wealth) on his little island, but his efforts come to naught. Tony rescues his brother and lady love (he’s got a huge crush on Amelia the food critic), and the plants on Yamapalu are all burned in the ensuing former chicken farmer riots. Will they ever learn what it is/was and where it came from? Find out in volume 3!
