This classic Russian definitely lived up to its hype. Three plots including the story of Pontius Pilot, the love between the Master and the Margarita, and the mischievous goings-on of the devil and his enforcers in Moscow was twisting, interesting, fantastical and truly well-written. In reading this for a book group, some great philosophical questions about destiny, individualism, and the value of good acts without evil came out of this fantastic reads. Would definitely recommend reading the commentary at the back of the novel for insight into this multi-layered classic.
