** spoiler alert ** It's supposed to be like the Da Vinci Code. And it's pretty good in it's own right. I found it to be predictable (I knew why the seneschal didn't have his own name and what the Great Devise was early on in the book).

The action was good and the characters were well done. However, the puzzles were a bit unfair--unless you know Latin, which makes sense because the clues wouldn't have been in English.

It was an enjoyable read. I may read his next book or one of his previous books, but I won't be keeping this one on my shelves. I'll donate it to make room for something I'll want to read again and again because I can't see myself re-reading this story.
