Kyle's review
Gone, Baby, Gone
by Dennis Lehane
It wasn't just an evil look, it was an evil look backed with a gun. Big difference from how you put it.

I wasn't particulary impressed by the writing or the characters. I thought it started extremely slow, although I did manage to finish it and enjoy it a little more the further along I got into it.
The many references back to previous novels got tiresome for somebody picking this book up as the first Lehane novel. The main character walks into the toughest bar in Boston and just as he's about to be attacked, he gives the owner an evil look and scares everybody into giving up all the information he wants. Really? I'm not buying it.
You could do much better with Elmore Leonard.
