An ultimately sweet story with a gruff protagonist with a good heart, and a persistent love interest who, while young, knows what--and who--he wants.

While sometimes the warden information got confusing, and one of the plot threads (kyrie) remained loose at the end, on the whole this story was very well-written. I like that the protagonist's world is a rough and dangerous one, and that he and his closest friends act accordingly. I also liked the love interest's pushiness--it enhanced his goodness and vulnerability.

Definitely a good read.
