I just HAD to listen to this, since I really liked The Power of One and wanted to read more about PeeKay! I guess it's really between a 3 and 4 star book for me. It was fun to follow up on him, but I thought this book wasn't as great as the first one. It seemed too melodramatic or schmaltzy. However, I still really LIKED it... or just enjoyed the story and got swept away by it. Toward the end, I was crying, as usual! I would still read more by Bryce Courtenay, even though I think, and have read in reviews, that his characters and situations are pretty over the top. It holds my attention, at least. Toward the end, I thought that the situation regarding what Tandia had been up to for 3 years was poorly developed and, I suppose, sort of a plot mechanism to get to the end. It just came as an unlikely surprise.
