Absolutely EXCELLENT writing and characterization. Each and every character glimmered brightly from within the prose contained between this book's covers. I could envision every single player in this story quite vividly.

Funny. Absurd. Witty beyond comparison.

Posthumous Pulitzer Prize winning novel from an author who committed suicide 11 years prior to his Pulitzer. If his mother hadn't found the manuscript lying around the house after his suicide, and compelled Tulane instructor Walter Percy to read it, the book (and subsequent Pulitzer might never have come to fruition).

Tragic story. EXCELLENT book. New Orleans culture at it's most intimate.

Rob One of the few books I've ever read that had me laughing out loud pretty much throughout. Loved this.
