really liked it

I read the entire Christine Bennett series (17 books to date), then started in on this sereis. I thought I would tire of the theme of the mystery series (cold cases)--the Manhatten Mystery series revolves around a female detective in a cold case squad--but Lee Harris didn't disappoint.

This particular story, the third of the series--and last since I've heard that Harris's publisher won't be doing any more--sad--was easily the best one of the three. The story revolves around the ten year old murder of an undercover police detective. The mystery itself is engaging as the squad goes about it's business, but as with most mystery series, the characters and their stories keep readers coming back for more. Detective Jane Bauer is a well drawn character and Harris is as adept at writing about the workings of the police force.

I hope both series get a new publisher. I wasn't ready to stop reading either.
