Reading any Chomsky book is a lesson in compromise. While I love Chomsky's presentation of facts and historical data I always found myself agreeing and disagreeing with his opinions throughout the book. This, of course, is not a bad thing.
This book is presented wonderfully and is a candid look at many of the bad decisions that the U.S. has made. The focus on our poor decisions, however, is what also makes this book a bit hard to swallow as Chomsky doesn't counter-balance his arguments and thoughts with any positive aspects of U.S. foreign policy. Still a fantastic read for anyone interested in the topic.
