Lion in the Valley (Amelia Peabody, #4)
by Elizabeth Peters
by Elizabeth Peters
This mystery book set in the late 1800s features Amelia Peabody Emerson, feminist, archaeologist and dectective. This entertaining tale puts Amelia and her archaeologist husband and their son in harms way of the Master Criminal. The Master Criminal is an expert antiquities thief, the bane of archaeologists. This delightful story is written in a style one expects of the 1800s. The historical facts are accurate because the Amelia Peabody Mystery series is written by Egyptologist Barbara Mertz under her pen name of Elizabeth Peters.
I have read several of the books in the series. All are page turners with a pithy blend of feminism, archaeology and mystery.
