I was attracted to this book because I like Michael Cunningham and I like reading about suave couples in Manhattan to get a glimpse into the fabulous. Peter and Rebecca Harris, he's an art gallery owner, she's an editor for some obscure mag that caters to the rich and the arts. Rebecca's hottie, crazy young bro comes to town and things go weird. Peter's the narrator and is more whiney than anything else. The plot meanders around the inter workings of his neurotic mind (which can be interesting and insightful into the middle-aged mindset but mostly is not) and a series of events happens that makes me go all talking heads - how did we get here? Cunningham's writing is still wonderful though, the subject matter is what became tedeious.
