I really enjoyed this book. It was definitely a book about Elena's pregnancy. Even throughout the conflict of the zombie's it was less about the zombie's and what they were doing to Toronto and more about how Elena's pregnancy was effecting her "work" with the pack. To me, that's alright. I really enjoyed reading about her experience and about the growth of the characters. Elena and Clay's relationship seemed really solid as it should be since they finally deceide to have children. Whereas in Bitten Elena hasn't yet come to terms with how she feels about Clay. In Stolen Elena's newfound commitment is still on the rocks as she's getting used to her decision.
I have only read the werewolf stories in the Otherworld series so far, but I didn't find any information that I was lacking in order to understand that story. There was some stuff with Jamie's necromancer abilities that I didn't quite understand, which was probably explained in a previous novel, but that didn't hinder anything for me.
I am looking forward to reading Frostbitten. I will read it next. I will not be reading the in between stories. That's a very good thing about this series. I know it enhances the experience to read each book from beginning to end in order, but that fact that one can skip around and read their favorite characters or stories without being left behind is great.
So, I'm anxious to read Frostbitten, but I also very much want to go back and read Bitten to see where it all began (in the novel universe excluding the short story Beginning - which I have read as well). To me that says success.
