Ahhh. Another great book!
I truly love this series. Every single one of the books so far has been interesting and entertaining. And this one was no different.
The story was fast paced and action packed and I liked the storyline.
It was sooooo great to finally see Tabitha’s story. She’s been a feisty thorn in the side for some of the other characters for a while now and it was wonderful to finally see her find her own love. And what a love.....of all the people who could have stolen her heart, it has to be Valerius, her brother-in-law’s enemy.
My heart just broke for Valerius. He was NOTHING like what people thought he was and he continued to pay for the actions of his family. I can’t imagine having no one like me or tolerate me or feel so alone. It was really sad.
I was glad Tabitha saw him for who he really was. And out of all the people who could possibly do it, that someone with a family history towards him is remarkable and reassuring. I loved how they interacted when they first met and were getting to know one another. He was so uptight and stoic and she really was the opposite, crazy; a say anything and do anything kind of gal. She was just what he needed.
It was interesting to see Desiderius back with a vengeance and ready to cause some pain to Kyrian and Amanda. It was even better to see them, and that’s largely thanks to Ash kick, his butt again. For a moment when Kyrian and Amanda were killed I was really worried but thankfully all worked out in the end.
I was happy to see that Zarek and Val may possibly bridge the gap between them in the future and I’m really curious as to what’s going to happen to Nick now that he’s become a Dark-Hunter. It was sad when his mum died and Tia, but I hope that the people can move on. Also I’m glad that Val and Kyrian having moved on from their history. That Kyrian is going to get past it. It’s wonderful.
However, while I’m glad Val and Tabby got their happy ending I do feel that the ending was kinda rushed. I feel cheated. Like the author wrote this great tale of forbidden love and angst about not really being allowed to be with the one you love without hurting the people in your life, only to have everyone turn around and say, ‘don’t worry about it. We don’t aare, let’s just all be happy, blah, blah, blah.’ Where was the pain and the real anger?
Still, I loved the book, and I’ll continue on with the series.
