Very nice book and good introduction to Cesar Milan's dog training philosophy. The emphasis is one philosophy. You won't find much specific in here. Sometimes it's frustrating because he will says something like "don't let your dog jump up on you or guests" but he does not give specific ideas on how to do that. What you do get is information on how to set up a dog for good training. It's nothing magical: lots of exercise (much more than your are doing or have time to do), discipline, and affection. The author does get very specific here about how much of each one of those to give and what the proper, and only, order is to give them. The book become s very repetitious in the middle about these topics. Some repetition is fine to drive home a point but by the fourth or fifth time it gets tiresome. However, the book is an easy read, and it's full of revelations and good information. However, don't expect to give you all or even most of the information about dog handling. You will want to read his other books, find training books by other authors, or order DVD's of his TV show in order to move on to a better understanding of how to live with your dog and how to train it - which this book has inspired me to do.
