I preferred this to Silesian Station, book two of the John Russell series. Russell is still playing both ends against the middle, but in this book his luck runs out. Fortunately, he still has a few friends. As in the earlier books, we follow him in his travels and share his fears. If you liked the earlier books, you'll enjoy this one.
