it was amazing
bookshelves: ya-children

Not to be too cheesy, but this really is a timeless children's book. Having grown up on a farm where I insisted on naming even those animals that were farm animals and not pets, this book struck a chord as I tried to understand the difference.

My mother gave me her copy of this book when I was sick as a child. The book was yellowed and dog-earred and even the cover had been torn off. Instead, she redrew the image and font from the original cover on white cardboard and bound it to the book with tape. I suppose it's not the most elegant copy, but might just be one of the most loved.
