This book would have been a hell of a lot better if I hadn't been spoiled for the whole story by description on the cover. Seriously, who puts ALL of the story of a book as a summary on the cover?

As it is, I can only assume that the book would have been better if I hadn't known the story beforehand, thus getting incredibly bored about one third through, when I realised that really, that summary on the cover, that's all there is. And the way leading up to it really isn't all that spectacular. Fairly entertaining, yes. Certainly nothing to complain about. But also nothing to write home about.

Because I can't be certain if I wouldn't have enjoyed this a bot more if unspoiled, I'm giving ti two stars. It was okay. But not more than that. And I guess I was expecting a bit more after all the raving reviews I had read about Mr. Chaon.

That said, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this book to anyone. However, I you do want to read it, I highly suggest that you don't let yourself get spoiled for the story.
