I discovered Konntz a few years ago with Odd Thomas and became a huge fan. He has a way of pulling me in with great metaphors, and enduring good guys, who make you feel like a better person for knowing them.
Now that is something I never could have imagined after avoiding him for years because I did not like horror books. Well I was wrong and I am glad I was talked into reading his works. I have read several over the past two years and I think that this is one of my all time favorites.
It has all the great metophorical refrences that I have come to expect from Koontz, filled with great good guy characters, nail bitting drama and great twists. And as Koontz books go I think this is one of his least sqimish making!
