Personally I though October Sky was a great book. The book goes through all of the emotions. Some of the emotions included were sympathy, happiness, and eagerness to get to next page. I’ll have to say. I almost put the book down in the beginning. After you get through the fifty pages or introduction, the book gets real good. I was actually surprised how good it got to be when I got to the “juicy” part of the book. It had a great ending. The ending was kind of a little sadder than I thought it would.

Now let me tell you my favorites and most hated events or people in this book. My favorite character in this book was Sonny because he knew what he wanted and reached for it. That is what I like. I like when people know what the want and try to get it with all of their strength. My most hated character in the book was Sonny’s dad. He cared more about that mine than his own family. He also didn’t treat his son as equally important. He gave Jim more an interest than Sonny because Jim was on the important “football team.” My favorite part of the book is when Sonny’s dad finnaly started to pay attention to him. My least favorite part of the book is when his cat, Daisy Mae, got killed by one of the mad miners. It was kind of depressing when he was burying the cat and crying all over the place.
