Pretend You Don't See Her
by Mary Higgins Clark
by Mary Higgins Clark
Passed on the James Patterson book. This one is about the witness protection program. One of those cases where someone was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Mary Higgins Clark is always a good read.
The new name she gave herself was Alice Carroll.....because she felt like she was in another world like Alice was in Wonderland...as in Lewis Carroll.
When told how to cope with a new name, a new town, a new job with no contact with her past she was told that when she looked in the mirror to "pretend you don't see her".
It makes you wonder if you could ever survive such isolation from your own self.
