I was expecting more from this story. I thought there could be more character development especially between the two main characters and their romance. There wasn't a lot of conversation between the two of them. Also, the beginning was a little frustrating for me because the author would say that the hero received several letters from McKenzie, but then would put the first letter and the second letter in as if he had only received those two in several months and then there was supposed to be more letters and time passing, but the next letter would answer the last one in the book instead of skipping ahead, so it was contradictory a lot and it also felt forced somewhat. Then McKenzie comes to be his mail-order bride and falls in love even though she means to leave, but keeps denying how she feels repeatedly, so the story felt a little rough. This is the first book by this author, so I'm sure she will get better. The overall story was enjoyable.
