Overall this was not my favorite read, but I didn't expect the emotional ending. I couldn't put it down towards the end. It was tough starting my adventures with this series towards the end of it, so many folks made an appearance, folks who's stories readers would know...but I didn't, so those characters came off as flat, fake and sort of suspicious. Chase was kind of a jerk. Didn't really like him and didn't ever really come to understand his "darkness". And what the heck was that part about where he'd never really pictured himself with a wife...after all the nonsense about him and his brother building their current home to be idyllic and ready for them to have families together. Whatever.

I would have given the book 2 stars, but the end somehow captured me. I didn't think it was possible, but hey, stranger things have happened.

Might start back at the beginning of the series to see if I can understand what this club is all about cuz from this book...I'm not much of a fan. Time will tell if I get much further with this series, but I am following it on FictFact.
