really liked it
bookshelves: books-read-2010

Since I haven't read her immensely popular The Time Traveler's Wife, I had nothing to compare this book to and I found I really liked it. For me it was just creepy enough and the characters quirky enough to hold my interest throughout. While difficult to feel compassion for most of the characters (and yes, most of them seemed unreal/unearthly), Martin and Marijke were the most human and easiest to love. I feel their presence made the rest of the book a bit easier to believe.

I do admit that towards the end of the book I became so confused about Elspeth and Edie that I wondered if I weren't Elspeth!
