I picked this up because of Brett Helquist's illustrations, but it ended up being a pretty okay story as well. Any book that gets kids interested in Shakespeare is okay by me. With that said, I don't appreciate that while it's getting kids interested in Shakespeare, it does so by bringing them into the stupid and extremely controversial question of whether Shakespeare ever existed. Also unfortunately, it comes out on the side of non-existence. When I told a professor of mine (a lifelong Shakespearean) about this book, he nearly had a coronary.
