This is the final play I had to read for my theatre class and I'm so glad I'm done. This, like many of the others I had to read, was quite bizarre. I thought it was a bit crude, considering I didn't know what I was getting into. I thought, since it was assigned by a teacher, it was going to be more pure. Didn't happen. Those kind of surprises don't fly well with me.

I thought it was sort of fascinating that this was based off a true event. Some guy really didn't know the person he loved for 20 years was actually a dude. Really does make you wonder how that happened, but I guess M. Butterfly does its best to explain that. I thought to jumps in time were a bit confusing on paper, but it's probably better in a theatre than just reading it.
