it was amazing
bookshelves: military-war, multiple-re-reads

It's always a thrill when an historical book tells you something new. It doesn't have to be a massively significant fact... just a simple detail - but new, all the same.

I was delighted to have such an experience with this book..

The fact that I was unaware of related to the Higgins Boat [Landing Craft]. It had never really dawned upon me before, yet I was surprised all the same that these vessels were made entirely out of plywood. Sure they had a some metal plating as armour... but PLYWOOD! Simply amazing.

This book just keeps getting better and better.
