This book is so inspiring. Melinda has lost all her friends, she has trouble speaking out loud, everyone views her as an outcast, she has tons of enemies and she refuses to admit even to herself why all of this happened. Deep down she knows why she's gone mute, and eventually is able to express herself through art. A charming tribute to a teenage outcast.

I honestly loved everything about this book. It was witty and fun, while also sad and sweet. The heartbreaking truth about what happened to Melinda is harsh, but the way she eventually is able to deal with it is inspiring and filled with hope. I found myself laughing and the ridiculousness of high school and the memories the story brought back. I definitely recommend this book!
