I really liked the Buchanan series from Garwood until I read Fire and Ice. This one fell a bit flat for me. It was a good book, but I was left wanting a better story. Not enough time was spent on the trail of the bad guy, although I was slightly surprised with who it was. More could have been done on their trip to AK. More could have been done with the relationship between Sofie, Jack and Sofie's father. The window scene, to me, was out of left field and I knew it related to the bad guy, but it didn't seem to blend with the story. Even the relationship between Sofie and Jack could have been fleshed out a bit more. But I did love the snark between the two of them. I'll most likely read the next book in the series, "Sizzle". But I don't think it will move to the top of my TBR Mountain Range.
