My reaction to this book was incredibly mixed.

Interview With The Vampire is easily one of my favorite books EVER. I love Lestat, and Louis. However, I was sorely let down with The Vampire Lestat.

The history and the detail in the book are amazing, it's almost hard to believe that it's NOT real. Sadly, the book was a pretty boring read for me. I wanted to love it so badly.

Nevertheless, the first 100 pages were excellent and exciting, and I felt all the love for Lestat that I've ever felt.

And the last 80 pages were fantastic, exciting, heart-racing. I could hardly put the book down. The last 80 pages made the book worth it, to me. I just don't see why it had to get so slow in the in-between!

If it were not for the way it picked up at the end, I would have given the book 2 stars. I'm glad I did not have to do that, because I love Lestat too much to want to insult him like that. XD
